.field trip wednesday? i think so.
m: i’m bringing sarajevo to you today. a few disclaimers:
1. i take pictures. i am no video viking, as of yet. sorry for the not-so-rad skills.
2. i say um a lot, and i’m a bit a.d.d., so thanks for putting up with my random interjections.
3. this is no super documentary, but a little glimpse. i don’t use history channel descriptions. i sound more like a child on a field trip.
i walked to the bosnian defense building today. it’s the one i’ve spoken of running past. bosnian forces defended sarajevo from attacking serb special forces within its walls. it was raining today on my walk, so i stayed inside the building for a while. if you come here, i’ll take you through.
goodbye for now. i love you.
Thank you.
I look forward to the next field trip, Mackenzie style. xXx

That was great! What a beautiful city is that Sarajevo. I love the hills and the houses and the green. Thanks for showing the building too. I have to tell you though, that I was extremely distracted by the fact that I couldn’t see your mouth. I kept wondering what it looked like. Maybe the next field trip can just show your mouth and no eyes. Or maybe that would be weird.

What a field trip! You could almost hear the bombs, guns, bullets and smell the smoke. Kept wanting you to get out of there. Odd contrast seeing the beautiful green hillsides outside. Like your stuff. Impressed in Dallas.

Thanks Kenz, you are a very good guide. I hope you are going to make this a regular thing of yours.
Can one request a location to be introduced Kenz-style?
Blessings,

First, and foremost, you need to show the Baščaršija, that should be at least 3-4 stories. Then you could drive down Sniper Alley, and go to Markale.

Taco Bueno makes a mean kajmak. You might know that if you’d ever eat there.

Kenz,
Thanks for the video -it really gave me a better understanding of the horrors that went on – that I was totally oblivious to. I’m sure you’ve heard this a lot, but I would really encourage you to put all your pictures and diary entries down and edit them into a book. I think they are fascinating and they bring to light what you are experiencing in a very personal way. Keep up the GREAT work!

me eating chevapcici or burek on camera could be an unpleasant thing, you know. its kind of like throwing food to pigs. goes quickly, and full of many unattractive noises.

Okay, Sniper Alley is basically the main road running through the valley from Holiday Inn, almost all the way to Dobrinja. It is called the Sniper Alley because the snipers on the hills had a full view of the whole area and they were able to shoot down anyone on that street. The tram going from Ilidža to Baščaršija runs right through the middle of it.
