prove it
m: i went to the store at 3:12 a.m. for splenda, an essential in my morning coffee. the man at the counter, to me:
oh, you must be buying this for your morning cup.
yes, yes i am. i can’t function without coffee in the morning.
oh, i bet that’s not true. you seem pretty up and awake right now.
welp, don’t feel like it.
i think people are crazy when they say that just HAVE to have a cup of coffee to wake them up. i mean, that’s just stupid. you don’t function any less well without coffee. dumbest theory i’ve ever heard.
didn’t know how to respond. i was not awake enough to disagree.
i proceeded to walk out to the parking lot, only then realizing i’d entered in the “exit only” lane and parked backwards. and of course i’d left my lights on.
pretty awesome.
as i pulled to the light a few blocks down, the poo was scared out of me by tapping at my window. it was mr. checkout handing me my debit card, which i didn’t even use (cash!) but had somehow left on the counter.
i think i proved my point to him without saying a word.
goodbye for now. must.have.coffee. i love you.
I find this post extremely interesting because at exactly 3:12 am this morning, I went to the hospital to be with a friend having her baby and take pictures. What did I make sure to do before leaving the house? Wash my face? No. Brush my teeth? No. Hair? Nope. Make a cup of coffee? Bingo. It was worth every precious second. And the baby-having was glorious.
I feel like you and me shared a moment at 3:12 am on June 27th.

And please don’t ruin our special moment by reminding me that we’re two hours apart. I believe in magic.

i didn’t even consider the time difference. we totally shared a moment.
what i’d do to have a fancy shmancy coffee maker like you. if you ever decide you want to “simplify” you can always send it my way:)
how’d the pictures turn out? did you see EVERYTHING? its memorable, that’s for sure.

I do love my unsimple and yet simple coffee maker. And yes, I saw everything and got great pictures! Which was good because they had wanted a video and the hospital wouldn’t let them video. Don’t even get me started…So I snapped away. They can’t stop my snapper.
Why were you out at 3:12?

wow, your guardian angel must be very busy. first, the candles, then the hotel fire in austin, then the microwave/milk incident, and now this.

I was up because I had work to get done before I went to work at 7. Not fun, but I got it all done
Arpi, it’s problematic the stories I find myself in. I think my guardian angel must be getting tired. I’m like a cat with nine lives and I must be on one of my last…
