I like the cloned sheep better

with one comment

I talked to my brother yesterday for a few hours and decided to ask, two hours into the conversation, how he had so much time to talk in the middle of the day (He’s an important attorney, you see. Not likely to have oodles of free hours in the day’s prime.) He informed me, Miss Uninformed, that Hurricane Dolly was approaching and forcing thousands to evacuate. He wasn’t actually evacuating when I talked to him, but going to and from places of work. I read this when I woke up this morning and this is what I have to say about it.

Dear Dolly,

When I read that “Preparations to protect life and property should be rushed to completion” and I know that my adorable brother and his adorable wife are two of the lives in that area, I am angered. Please twirl your nebulous self out of the area and die. We don’t appreciate your unnecessarily aggressive presence. I actually hate you. A lot.

Ungratefully yours,

Mackenzie

P.s. Your name works much better for a sheep. or two of them.

  1. Got a hurricane story for you. Talked with our cousin, Dana, day before yesterday and she was telling me a story she heard when she was a little girl. Your great grandfather, Charles Rollins, had a farm house in China Texas which is near Beaumont and the Gulf. She said she heard a story that during a really bad hurricane that he feared would destroy the house, he tied family members to very strong beams that he knew had been driven deep in the ground when the barn was built and would stand up to the wind. Now that’s a hurricane story! Love, Melissa
