Where’s waldo? Or Mackenzie? Or my underwear?

My room takes two forms AND only two forms. Spotless. or. Riotous (Exhibit A.)

I don’t know how to find an in between. Spotless is nice and all, but the second I actually inhabit the space, the spots quickly fill with mess. I suppose this could be coined Spotmess. Yup, that’s me.

Notecards. Clothes I thought I wanted to wear but decided were terribly unflattering. Old pictures that I don’t quite know what to do with. Plastic bags that I shouldn’t have gotten from the grocery store. Hello, it’s Seattle, where we’re all supposed to bring our own trendy cloth bags…too bad I always forget mine. Thin colored sharpies in all nooks and crannies, because of course, you never know when you might need to scribble a flavorful message.

“They” say that the orderliness (or lack thereof) of your room reflects your mental state.

Someone call a psych ward for a new patient. I’ll be waiting for them…if they can find me.

  2. If it’s any consolation, I’m the same way, there’s no middle ground.

  6. @ jess: i’m glad i’m not the only one. i’ll save a cot for you in the ward. and a hot white gown.

@ selena: because it’s the thing to do. no, i really don’t know. i think it’s for practical reasons, because in low light its easy to stabilize the camera on your stomach. that’s what i think, at least.

@ arpi: no such luck. i’ll try again next time. how’s my room in your house? staying clean, i’m sure. i’ll have to come mess it up soon.

  8. cute room! i have a theory that the condition of one’s desktop also reflects their mental state. i have no grounds other than looking at people’s desktops and then observing them for awhile. the people with links and files covering their screens seem crazy and those who have things orderly seem more calm. maybe too calm. they probably have ocd. hehe. my desktop is currently a mess, which makes me feel scattered… i really gotta clean them up!
