B.M.

with 8 comments

Sam (age 6) and I were quietly enjoying our morning coffee (read: one coffee, one hot chocolate) when he grins and casually says

Isn’t it unfortunate that Batman’s initials are B.M. I mean, shouldn’t the directors have considered that?

I spewed coffee all over myself and the carpet. He followed suit with his beverage of choice, and we’re now perched atop white stained carpet, ears ringing with his chanting Batman’s initials are B.M. Batman’s initials are B.M.

  3. This is an amazing conversation…I have a four year old and get stuff like this all the time. Kids are great for incredible conversations that we would never have with adults. Love it.

  4. @ Josue: I’m sure his parents would be up for buying him a phone, and he totally already knows how to browse the internet. Bingo bango.

@ Kat and Trevor: Kids are great. Things are somehow funnier from their mouths…no inhibitions, hesitations. So bold in the way that they speak. Even if it does make you spew. I think everyone needs good spew now and again.

  7. I echo Nate.

I really wonder what this next generation of kiddos will be like when they’re our age. I spent the weekend around my nieces and nephew (2, 3 and 5) and I’m baffled at how freakin’ smart they are. They say and do some of the craziest things!

  8. the next generation is smarter than all of us already. if only we could just keep them from growing…

or we could quarantine them somewhere…

or talk down to them to discourage their confidence from growing…

or scheme together to shut down the i n t e r n e t so as to shut off their continued access to so.much.information.

i think i just need to accept that they’re smarter.
